NYPD Shuts Down Joey Bada$$ Show At Irving Plaza

May 2024 · 1 minute read

The NYPD decided to cancel a Joey Bada$$ concert set to take place tomorrow (June 2) at Irving Plaza, Billboard reports. This comes exactly a week after the shooting involving Troy Ave at a T.I. concert at the same venue. Coincidence, I think not. Fans were not “devastated” for long as the “Unorthodox” rapper took matters into his own hands, moving the concert to another location.

NYC: They cancelled my show tmrw so we gon party. Meet me at 270 Layfatette St (G STAR SOHO LOCATION) @ 4PM TODAY????

Obviously the police are worried another incident could break out, especially with the history of beef between Troy Ave and Joey Bada$$ earlier this year, where Troy dissed the late Capital Steez of Pro Era. This is unfortunate, and hopefully not a sign of things to come with more rappers slated to perform at the venue later this month.
